Monday, Monday...

Only a couple more days off before I go back to work - sigh! I love work when I am there, but do find it hard to go back after a week or so off.

Anyway, DD has painted our bird table in an attempt to lure them to us. She chose summery ice-cream colours. It looks lovely, but the birds are yet to appreciate it. A while ago I posted about the 10 or so bird feeders I had hung - they didn't work either. We have loads of birds round here, the little blighters are more than happy to wake me up at 4am, but they won't use the feeders!!!! But the latest attempt is very pretty :-)

And here is the view they have from their feeding post. Not too bad, I am sure a lot of other birds would be very grateful for their surroundings!!

DD and I are off for hair cuts, then we will come back and make cakes - hooray!!
Have a lovely day, hopefully you can avoid the rain.
See you soon x

PS ANY advice about getting birds onto feeders would be very welcomed, thanks x

Perhaps it is because you have cats?

Loving those colours! Thank you SO SO much for calling in at the bear fair yesterday - it was really lovely to meet you - I was very touched you came as you are not a bear collector and it really made my day!! xxx

I bought a lot of bird feeders a couple of years ago. The birds hardly touched them and when they did, the spilt seed seemed to encourage the mice to come and have a feast so that was it! The bird table looks so lovely! Love the bunting too! Enjoy your haircutting experience! xxxx

What a lovely bird table!!!!

I find that if I put the feeders near to an established tree or bush they are more likely to come and use it. Hope this helps.

Your bird feeder would go with my shed! We bought a 'cheap' seed for the birds and they didn't touch it! some are better than others.

It can take birds ages to become accustomed to a new place to feed. The suggestion that you put it near to something they regard as safe shelter seems a good idea. Then you can move it back to a more central area as they get used to it, perhaps? Best of luck - it is so pretty!

What a smart bird table, hope the birds appreciate it. I have three Puddie cats, two of them are from ferral backgrounds and like to hunt down the local wildlife, so I have no bird feeders in my garden I am afraid. Have a fab week..x

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, maybe it's just the time of year. Maybe the birdies don't need your seed, maybe they can find enough bugs for their babies at this time of year.
