Quick review of 2009...

Slightly blurry dahlia from last autumn - I love this rich wine colour, beautiful.

These colours are just gorgeous, so warm and rich.

This was a rose from last autumn, that grew in the garden. DD and DH gave me this plant years ago, and despite my lack of green fingers, the hacking back that it has infrequently, and the fact that the chickens have discovered the beds - it continues to bloom so spectacularly. It asks for nothing, but never fails to give so much - beautiful.

I have been looking through photos and realised that I haven't really taken any this year. I posted a few yesterday and the only other ones are less than 10 that I look on holiday this year - yes, just 10. I need to get this rectified - tomorrow I am in the garden with the girls (the feathery kind) so there will be new photos.....

View from Fowey, July 2009

View from Fowey and a rainbow, July 2009

View from one of my most favourite places - the cafe at the Tate St Ives.
I could sit here all day just experiencing the view.
St Ives is my favourite place for so many reasons:
The colours, the views, the people, the atmosphere, the deckchairs, the cream teas, the peace.
Is it as good to live there as it is to visit?
Do the people who live there feel the way I do when I visit, all the time?

Feel the force, Luke!

Is it obvious that there is a disctinct difference in the photos of 2009 versus 2008? Could it be something that has just bitten me on the bum!! Wow, that was a message!

Such a lot has happened since my last post. DD has grown up - this is her going to her Prom....

Ha Ha!! Not this one; since I last posted, we have actually got chickens, Audrey and Amelie - bad photos - would you believe DD is doing photography at college - her proper stuff is a lot better, I will ask her to take daylight piccies.
The top photo is Audrey, so is the bottom one, apparently the photo of Amelie made her look fat - go figure?!?!

Christmas has started......

DD's Sweetie Tree is up. We had to take a quick trip to Woolys to pick up some more lights, it hasn't photod well, but there are 200 coloured static lights on this gorgeous tree....I love this tree. It stands in the hall, and is great to see when you come in at night.

And, my garland is finished and I owe huge thanks to allsorts and creative thinking for it, the oranges are dried, the advent candle is lit (took us days to find one of those - what is going on?? you can buy tons of crap but nothing traditional?!?!?!), as is my yummy cinnamon yankee candle...I love this time of the year.

DD has been sick, so has been off school the last 2 days. She seems to be better now, she almost seems to need a couple of days out every 6 months or so....if it helps her then I am ok with it. We had a nice couple of days together.

This weekend DH and DD will get the tree for the living room. We have made the decorations for that too, and are looking forward to how it will turn out - the theme is red and cream, stars and hearts....photos will follow.

You can knit a Colinette Throw....

but why is it that cats prefer paper and cardboard???? Buggers!

At least she is washing I s'pose!!
Onto other things...I have been second guessed on a PM sent by Lulu. She has guessed that I have started quilting...but when I say started, that is it...started. I have cut some squares, and put them in a safe place. But here is a photo just for Lulu:

And in the meantime I have been very inspired by both allsorts and Creative Breathing, both beautiful blogs that are most definitely worth a visit.
Look, the beginnings of a garland - I am SO pleased with them, and am hoping to get it finished this afternoon.....

I AM still knitting, I just don't get enough hours in the day, or daylight in the day to photo it all. And why is it that I always decide to Christmas Craft at the end of November when work is hectic, days off become limited between now and Christmas, I work late nights on every Thursday, doing a 13 hour day....DHs b'day is at the begining of December and I haven't started Christmas Shopping yet.....why can I not do this in August, and relieve the pressure!!
