Happy Summer Solstice
DH has finally made an appearance before midnight! I AM married! He and DD are now out doing her paper round, and then he is off to get a chinese - yummy! And maybe I bottle of red if I ask nicely. I have changed my day off and will now be off to pick strawberries and make jam. That should sort out the pile of jam jars gathering on my kitchen work surface:
Knitting Update:
'Vog On no 1 is done....I'll cast on for no 2 tonight. I want the pair done before Woolfest next week...dear god I am SO excited.....lamas, yarn, fellow knitting-types, can life get any better??
chips - 'cos DH is british, so we have to have chips
Prawn Crackers
Crispy Beef
Fried Rice
Beef Curry
Spare Ribs
Beef and Tomato
Noodles
I am now going to sit and moan about the fact that I am a UK size 13. I tried a skirt on in Principles yesterday, size 12 too small, size 14 too big - Fuck!
And to dance around my wicker man nekkid for the Summer Solstice, 'cos I can.

Crappy Ass Stash #2
A decision has been made - I have lots of acrylic and don't enjoy knitting baby stuff.
There are lots of people who enjoy knitting baby stuff and have no acrylic......
So, it is off to be donated to those people who would like it, leaving me to be completely selfish and use the stuff I want to keep, like the handspun I have had sent, the Debbie Bliss that was gifted, and the Socks that Rock that I have yet to get my hands on :-)
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, hope you approve the decision ;-)

Crappy Ass Stash
How do you know that you have a crappy ass stash? When you spend all afternoon photographing all of it, posting it on Ravelry and thinking "bugger me, is that it? Is that what is taking up so much room in the corner of the living room?"
Now to work out what I want to knit, listing my yarny needs and buying some decent stuff that I can be proud when I get to Woolfest......
the question is - should I ditch the crap?????? Some of it is over 5 years old, has been knitted into various different things and is still sitting half frogged in the corner. I must have loved it once, but now - I suppose I feel guilty that I spent money and have effectively wasted it Ggggrrrr! (angry face!)

Why do I not concentrate...
I cannot get this heel right. It is squiffy off centre.....I am going to tink back to the beginning of the heel and try again - sigh!
DH is working late again tonight. Apparently tonight could be so late that he may not come back, and it could entail working all weekend too. And it is work ;-) he is so bloody stressed when he is here, with a decidedly non-perky look about him. Roll on Woolfest, and a long weekend in the Lakes.
Can you tell I am knitting with the pattern on the laptop on (funnily enough) my lap.........so many little posts in so little time.

I am in!!!!!!!
Ravelry.
Am I ever going to get any knitting done? There really should be at least 48 hours in a day!

Surprise Mail....
Look what DD got in the mail today from Lulu. How did she know that DD's favourite (besides camels) are penguins......
Sing-a-long
Have you ever had a penguin come to tea?
Take a look at me, a penguin you will see!
Penguins, attention! Penguins, begin!
Right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg!
Cheers, me dears. Mwah!

Progress...
It has been a couple of hours, I have turned the heel and things are starting to move upwards. Then I fucked up the heel flap, so need to go back and redo that bit.....but anyway it is moving apace. And this once again, is a knitting blog - woo hoo!!!
And yes, that is himself in the background. He got back about an hour ago, and helped himself to cheese on toast, as the kitchen is closed.
And yes, that yarn really is that green!!!!

Time alone....
DH is working late at the moment. We see each other for about 2 seconds when he mutters "deadlines" and then disappears.....I would ask what he is doing, but I wouldn't understand it, and I am not sure I could look interested for as long as he would explain it. DD is playing on her Playstation Thing so there is nothing left for it but Knitty Surfing and knitting........

Swoop, it's Batty...
Look at this Birthday Cake......
made for my special daughter's sister first Birthday Party (special daughter as she was named and I was dedicated to her, as opposed to being christianed and me being made a godmother). Are you still with me?
Look at this cake that her Grandma made for her - Fifi and the Flowertots.
The only bits that you can't eat are Fifi and her friends - though Holly did give them a good chewing later as she is teething, and the tables and chairs which are balsa wood...oh, and the umbrella......
Isn't it amazing?!
It took her a week to make...
Isn't it amazing? Can you believe that someone has the patience and the talent to do this. Over the years Grandma has made various fabulous cakes, and I am ashamed to say that I was so overwhelmed with this one that I didn't take any photos of anything else at the party and that includes the beautiful Birthday Girl.
